For patients

See where you stand before you decide anything.

Your provider has invited you to apply for treatment financing. Pre-qualify in under a minute with a soft credit check only. No impact on your score.1 Then compare your pre-qualified offers side-by-side at your own pace.

If your provider gave you a direct link please use that link. It connects your application to your practice.

01What to expect

Four calm steps.

01

Your provider invites you

You receive a link from your practice or use a tablet in the office. Your application is connected to your provider so your treatment plan and your financing stay in step.

02

Pre-qualify with a soft check

Answer a short set of financial and identity questions. Pre-qualification uses a soft credit check. It does not affect your credit score1 and your medical information is never part of the application.

No score impact
03

Compare your pre-qualified offers

One application goes to a panel of patient-financing lenders. You see your pre-qualified offers side-by-side. Amounts and terms in one view. You choose or you walk away. Both are fine.

04

Accept with full disclosures

If you proceed you complete acceptance on the lender's own application. The lender shows you the full disclosure including APR and payment schedule before anything is final. A hard credit inquiry only happens there and only with your consent.

Your consent required
02Your protections

Financing with the guardrails on.

Your credit score is protected

Pre-qualification uses a soft credit inquiry. Soft inquiries do not affect your credit score. A hard inquiry can only happen on a lender's own application after you give explicit consent.

You see everything before you sign

Every offer comes with the lender's full disclosure including APR and payment schedule. If the numbers don't work for you nothing obligates you to proceed.

Your health information stays with your provider

The application asks financial and identity questions only. MedPay never receives your medical records and your clinical information is never part of a financing decision.

Time is on your side

There are no countdown clocks and no expiring buttons on MedPay. Talk to your family. Talk to your provider. Decide when you are ready.

Patient questions

Asked all the time. Answered plainly.

Will checking my offers hurt my credit score?

No. Pre-qualification uses a soft credit check which does not affect your score. Only if you later accept an offer on the lender's application and consent to a hard inquiry will one occur.

Is MedPay the one lending me money?

No. MedPay is not a lender. We route your single application to a panel of patient-financing lenders. The lender you choose provides the financing and services your account.

How much can be financed?

Financing on the MedPay panel ranges from $3,000 to $50,000.2 What you are approved for depends on the lender and your application. All financing is subject to credit approval.

Do you see my medical records?

No. The application captures financial and identity information only. Your medical records stay with your provider and are never part of your financing application.

What if a lender declines?

If a lender declines your application that lender will send you a notice explaining why. Your credit score is not affected by the soft check pre-qualification and your provider can talk through other ways to plan treatment.

When you are ready

Start with your provider's link.

Your practice's invitation connects your application to your treatment plan. If you don't have a link ask your front desk.

Soft credit check only. No impact on your score. Subject to lender approval.

Notes
  1. Pre-qualification uses a soft credit inquiry and does not affect credit scores. Subject to lender approval.
  2. Financing is provided by unaffiliated lenders on the MedPay panel. Amounts, terms and approval vary by lender and applicant.
